I don't find many green rocks worthy of cutting, but this one looked promising. Green material has a hardness of 5.5 Purple-brown material has a hardness of 6.5 White maternal is too intermixed to get a good hardness measurement. Like always, found in South Central WI Thanks all.

That's an interesting one. The green areas are too soft to be green quartz. I have found some of that North of you.

Your last set of pics looks very similar. We do have Rhyolite in his area but it's usually red with quartz phenocrysts.
