After sitting for a year I started my lot o up again, and when cleaning out before my polish stage I noticed the inside of the barrel is bubbling, and during a deep clean a spot of slurry turned out to be a hole on one of the bubbles and it seems like it's a bubble of harder slurry. I have no idea how it's entered, they're spread throughout the barrel, and can only be felt on the inside.
Is it a normal end of life happening for the barrel? It's never used for coarse grinding, which is all done in a rotary. I'm assuming continued use of the barrel will erode more of this hole and open up others.

I have been using mine almost non-stop for 3+ years and I have not experienced anything like that.

Maybe air in the rubber when it was molded? I retired from over 40 years in the rubber industry with around 15 working on and supervising a molded press line. Air traps that were missed or ignored is a possibility. As long as it isn't totally leaking I would just use it till it's done.

More than likely small air bubbles that had trapped slurry in them. As the slurry (now very dried out from sitting for so long) absorbs water it expands and causes the bubbles. Since it is near impossible to find parts for Lot-os right now I would just keep using it.
