Rob, I’ve learned much from watching your videos, and wanted to publicly say thank you for creating them. I know that it takes a tremendous amount of time to make a video like this happen at all. A couple of interested questions: Are you shooting these with a cell phone and remote microphone? What sort of video set up are you using? And post-editing with what app? I am very much in to photography and some video as well, so I am always interested in the gear/set ups people are using. Have you ever thought about selling a few “Michigan Rocks” T-shirts on the side? 😀 Thanks again Rob. -Geoff-

Rob is awesome. I learn so much from his efforts! I attribute a lot of my success to his guidance. Thank you Rob for all you do

I don't know nearly as much about photography as I should. For shots where I'm standing behind my demonstration table, I have a homemade mount hanging from the ceiling. My room is very narrow, so it's just on the other side of the table. I could probably reach it if I leaned over the table. I have two shelves, one over the other. The top one has my iPhone, filming in 4K aimed down at the table. Below it is a GoPro, currently the 11, getting the wide shot. The GoPro is filing in 2k. I just crop the iPhone video to get close ups at the table. I also have a Zoom Hn1 recorder and a Rhode Video Mic Pro hanging from the ceiling right over the table to record better audio. For close up shots that don't have a corresponding wide shot, things like looking at the rocks at the end of this video or shots of me using my cab machine, I use the iPhone on a tripod pulled up really close. I also just made a camera jig that hangs right over my cab machine that I can mount my phone to. The whole thing folds up into the ceiling when I'm not using it. I have really liked that because I don't have to reach around a tripod to make a cab and it has pretty close to the same view as I have when cabbing. It's really easy to slide my camera from wheel to wheel too. I edit with Final Cut Pro. I've been selling shirts for several years. They should appear right under my videos, but if not, they're in the description of all the videos. There are three different designs. I made one and a subscriber made the other two for me.
