I have a small stone, about 17mm round, that I hope you can help me ID. Unfortunately, I do not have a camera that is computer compatible and I do not have a cell phone. If you want to bail out now, I understand. This little stone looks like a piece of scratch with black and white motteling (sp). It reminds me of some of the stones that sell as ruby in some other material. When you shine a UV small flashlight on it, it turns into a brilliant, beautiful, rich sky blue. Turn the UV off and it's back to a motteled black and white. I don't know if this is enough information to help in identification or not. If you have any ideas, I'd like to hear them.
Thanks,
Jim

Hey Jim...I just went over to YouTube and searched "rocks that fluoresce under uv light" and there's a bunch of videos that come up. I don't know if maybe one of those videos would have a rock that is like yours or not. It really is hard to try and get an ID without a pic. (Although I think you did a great job at trying to describe it! )

Thanks, Jason. I'll try that.
