Fancy jasper, desert Jasper (and one chunk of banded chert or agate I found) that I bought off Amazon. 6 weeks course tumble (should have gone 8-10), 1 week tumble each of 220 and 700 followed by 2 days in a rayteck 5 vide with 1200 AO, then another 2 days with 1500 AO. We’re still relatively new to the hobby at 8 months in and are working on achieving that ‘mirror shine’. I recently picked up some 1-3 micron AO and plan on trying it next. (man I hope the picture uploads, we’re having so much trouble with setting cloudinary up)

Very nice tumble! You got the picture to load -- I think you've got that part nailed down now.

Great looking stuff! The 1-3 micron AO should get you the shine you need. Surprised, even though the are hard materials, that you didn't wear off the edges more after 6 weeks of coarse.

They look great! Love the color! My most recent completed batch was polychrome jasper but not as nice color as these - good job!

I’m working on a batch of these right now! A little relieved to hear that it’s normal for these to take a good few weeks (I’m on week 3). Glad to see the patience pays off - those pieces look really pretty!

Got some Desert Jasper running as well. Going on week 8 and still getting all the little flaws out. Yours turned out great!

Great looking stuff! The 1-3 micron AO should get you the shine you need. Surprised, even though the are hard materials, that you didn't wear off the edges more after 6 weeks of coarse. I should’ve run it 2-3 more course runs but I was doing a little show and tell on the tumbling process with the guys on my RC Forum and rushed it a bit. I also like some rocks to keep a bit of their natural shape. I could never get the shine right though, so after three attempts using 1500 AO, I threw it back on 500 grit for five days and started the polish process over. I worked back up to the 1500 AO and now it has been in the micron sized AO for 24+ hours. I’ll pull it out tomorrow evening. I’m positive it’ll work this time because my test batch of rocks finished a bit ago. I finally achieved that mirror shine I’ve been striving for. Finally.

I wasn’t happy with them do back tracked a bit. I put them back in the vibe with 700 grit for 2 days, 1200 for 2 days, 1500 AO. Next time I’ll run them a couple more weeks in course. Im happy with them though finally. for 2 days and finally, 1-3 micron AO for 2 days. Now I’m happy lol

Thank you! I need to start scrubbing them better, inspecting closer between stages, and put more care into the final cleaning. Pictures under bright light show up so much more of the ‘uh-ohs’ than just my eye can see ugh.

I do WAY more cabbing than I do tumbling...and I know exactly what you're talking about with regards to pictures showing the "uh-oh" spots! Stupid pictures! LOL
