Just curious if anyone has tumbled rough cut into these square like shapes before? Another picture from a review It has good reviews overall but none show any after tumbling pictures so I'm curious on how they would turn out. I imagine they would still be mostly square in shape but could you run them in course long enough to get a rounder shape? (mainly just without sharp/pronounced edges) Would it be worth it? Seller is Meekosmine on Etsy

Here are some samples I tumbled from Meekos Mine. The corners round over but you will still have a somewhat boxy look on some of the pieces......it just depends on how many sides are cut. Some of my pieces only 1 side was cut. There were others with all sides cut and some with no sides cut. The nice thing about the cut stuff is that it works up fairly quick. Overall I really like ordering from this supplier. I only order directly from their website. The material seams to be quality, ships quick and reasonable prices.

I also received an order recently from Meekos Mine with similar boxy chunks (definitely saw cut). I have not yet tumbled them so I am curious as well. The quality of the rocks seems to be very good - they are just not the naturally(?) broken/crushed pieces like I've received from other vendors.

It seems they have decent material for tumble. Thanks for sharing! I am not a fan of the the boxy look but I am thinking of trimming the edges and vertices from the original cubes before tumbling. On the other hand, some "naturally" crushed pieced could take quite long to tumble and could become very small/thin at the end if I am reasonably picky about the surface smoothness.

Meeko's mine does have excellent material but as mentioned above, much of the rough is saw cut on at least one side.

That material looks real nice. I've just started cutting some cold mountain thundereggs, moss agate eggs, and some found chalcedony. There is a lot of waste tumbling purchased crushed stone and rockhounded stone. I am hoping to have less waste using stones I cut.

I actually really like the 'chunked' pieces vs. the crushed. I did not know about this place so I just went and ordered a couple different pounds to see how it comes - I think some of the cubed chunks could be easy to trim small slabs off of for cabbing. Thank you for sharing this place!!

I had never heard of this vendor and agree that rough sawn chunks like this are highly preferable to crushed rock. I about went nuts for years trying to get a decent piece of rose quartz that had come through those crushers. Think I will think of something I need and place an order. And if no need, will think of a want if you know what I mean.

Good Looking stuff there!!
I picked up a couple of barrels of sphere makers saw scraps, lots of triangular pieces, end cuts and a few square ones. I really like the triangular pieces after they are tumbled. I have been thinking about cutting the longer triangular pieces into smaller pieces and tumbling a batch of those to see what happens.
