I know there are perhaps a lot fewer cabbers here in the northeast, but there is a good sounding sale in Bristol, CT this coming weekend. It's a two hour drive for me but I gotta have a look! I am not affiliated with these clubs, just thought there may be others nearby who'd like to see what they have.
"Due to a recent donation of cutting material, our club Lapidary Center is holding a mega-sale. Agate nodules. Jaspers of all sorts – colors and patterns! Carnelian nodules. Various moss agates. Blue chalcedony. Bloodstone. Slabs. You name it, it might be in one of the over 40 buckets! Some tools and equipment. April 15th and 16th (Saturday & Sunday) 10 AM to 2 PM F Barnes Nature Center - 175 Shrub Road, Bristol, CT E There are over 40 buckets of newly donated material! If you’ve been to previous Lapidary Center sales, you know what bargains are to be had. “Rock bottom” prices ! ( No joking! ) The Lapidary Center is managed jointly by the Bristol Gem and Mineral Club and t he Lapidary and Mineral Society of Central Connecticut, both non-profit organizations."

I was overwhelmed. The club evidently has these sales every year. People in the know showed up with 5 gallon buckets to put their purchases in, I had nothing that would suffice. Lots of Brazilian agate nodules, big chunks of jasper, and smaller pieces of variscite and other nice material and some slabs. There really wasn't much material I don't already have. I was interested in what tools and equipment they might have but there was really nothing I needed. They had a sweet Raytech 6" saw with vice and auto feed for $500 which I thought was a great price but I didn't need it. They also had a used Genie but since I don't need one I didn't ask the price. The club shop was amazing with 3 genies, two Raytilts, a Covington wet sander, and several other expando drum machines. They have 18", 10', and 6" Raytech saws all in a very neat workshop space. If the club wasn't two hours away I'd join up!
