Hi Everone I'm chris, I'm getting ready to buy a calway lot o vibratory tumbler. Everything I read says this is a great machine. My question is did they resolve the motor problem, and does the double barrel version have the same problem. If not do they have a replacement motor that works. What is another great tumbler

Welcome to the forum from NE Ohio. I got a Lot-o for Christmas (by Belt, Inc - is that the same as Calway?). Hubby received it end of November, opened it Christmas and by beginning of March my motor had blown. Came downstairs to strong burnt, electrical smell and one of my fans were black. I called the company and spoke to a woman who honored the 90 day warranty since it was a Christmas gift. Sent my motor in and received a new one within a couple weeks. Have only run the lot-o once since then (waiting on stage 2 rocks) and it ran great...fingers crossed it remains that way. The motor they sent was different than what I sent them, so I'm hopeful that means they recognize there was an issue with the other motors? I can find the brand and let you know if that would be helpful.

I think supply chain issues are still around and Belt Inc. is just buying whatever motor they can get their hands on. Here is a detailed write up (which you may have already read) where I documented my experience with a failed motor. The good news is that the shortage has caused some people to experiment. When I reached out to The Rock Shed, I spoke with the owner Shawn for a bit. They had retrofitted a cement vibrating motor onto their Lot-O because they also had a motor failure. After I mentioned it here, Drummond Island Rocks installed one on his Lot-O as well. Or at least I assume he saw it from the post I made.
