This morning, after 2 1/2 years sitting in the box, I plugged in the Lot-O. I’ve watched tons of YouTube videos about adjusting the dowel to get a faster action. First observation was how crooked the dowel was installed from the factory! Maybe I’m being picky but after spending my entire adult life as a carpenter I tend to like things level and square. Anyhow, I cut a 3/8” oak dowel and tried different placement. What I’m finding is if I line the edge of the dowel up with the back of the frame I’m getting a tumble comparable to what others seem to be happy with. Incidentally, this is just about where the guy from Michigan rocks has his dowel set. I have the barrel filled with ceramic and several 1-2” rocks the grandkids tossed. My question is how long should I run the 5/8 ceramics in the Lot-O to break them in? I added 1T of 120/220 grit.

Darrell - I think the instructions say something about a 24 hour run, but I'm not positive about that. I run mine anywhere from 24 to 48 hours at a time. I've had it for seven months now. One thing that I would suggest is to take a black marker pen and mark both of your fans for dead bottom center, on both wheels. Then, everytime you use the vibe be sure that the wheels (fans) are at the same position. Hope this helps. The weights are visible in the fans/wheels. They should be in alignment with each other, but the black marker makes it easier and quicker to check the positioning.

I don't think there is any need to specifically break in the ceramic unless you are starting it in pre-polish or later. I just throw new ceramic in with the rocks and 120/220 and they round off enough to be fine.
