excellent framing of the patterns. I also like working with frogskin. Thank you. Tahoma can be really difficult to work with trying to find nice patterns. Not many turn out well. I think I got luck on the first one.

Wow! Really nice set! The first one is mind blowing. That's Tahoma?? Thanks so much, it is Tahoma. It didn't start out quite that nice or with those same patterns. Very rarely do my Tahoma cabs turn out. I wish I had taken a before photo.

Beautiful work, I really like that first one and the Montana Thank you Chad, you're awesome. I like the Montana one too. That was a freeform to try and capture that ring of dendrites.

The Montana has quite the little forest in it. They are all very nice! Thank you so much. Lots of dendrites for sure. I love looking for images in Montanans.

Tahoma is From Mt.Tahoma. Frogskin is from Mt. Ranier which is the same place. Tahoma is a seam agate/jasper and is usually cut across the seam. Cutting with the seam can produce the frogskin look. The issue with cutting with the seam is that the pattern can drastically change when grinding. There is no "Mt Tahoma". Tahoma jasper-agate is actually from a ridge north of Mt Rainier. Tahoma is what the native Americans called Mt Rainier. The Tahoma claim is on the south side of the Dalles Ridge. Beautiful job on the cabs. The first one is my favorite. Thank you so much. Very keen that you know exactly where it comes from.

Those are all awesome. I especially like the first. To be honest it never occurred to me to cut my seam agate with the seam, or even across it given that it's often so narrow. I've always just left them as specimens. Thanks stardiamond I will have to dig some of these out and play with them. Thanks. Grinding them is also a good way to find the patterns especially when the slab is thin. I had to go back into my collection of Tahoma when I found that out also.

They are all beauties, but the blue mountain jasper is an exceptional composition !
Thanks for posting them,
Patty
Thank you Patty, I saw something of an orb on the Blue mountain and decided to put it at the bottom of that template, I guess it worked out okay. I try to do the best I can with what blue mountain I have.

Those are stunning! The third - blue mountain jasper I think you have listed is absolutely gorgeous. Love the patterning and pretty blues. Thanks for sharing! Thank you so much. That's the best orb or part of one that I ever found in blue mountain. I'm thrilled that you like it.

Wow that conglomerate is rad! Amazing shine on all the different material in that stone! Thanks. I bought the slabs for that from a vendor at the 1st annual rock and gem show at The Outpost in Pearblossom, CA while visiting relatives in April. Luckily it stayed in one piece while cutting and cabbing.

dshanpnw - WAY TO GO!! Those are all amazing! I agree with Robin...that first Tahoma made my jaw drop!! Thanks Jason, your compliments really means so much. It means I am on the right track. I was grinding the imperfections out of that first one and it just got better as I did. Just plain luck.

Looking at each of those cabs, I can clearly see it wasn't luck which got you the results. You truly "get it" when it comes to cabbing! Heck, you took on an inside curve right out of the gate...and have been nailing it! You're taking on more than just "basic" shapes...and nailing those too!
