My wife started collecting lapidary about 20 years ago and that is what got me started in making cabs.
I taught her how to bargain hunt and she picked up this pendant on ebay at a very reasonable price. I noticed it in one of my Riker boxes. Beautiful material and framing. Piece is 50mm.

Love that!!! A few years ago I had a chance to buy a slab of Biggs (about the size of a large dinner plate) for a hundred bucks from an old rock hound. Wish I'd bought it but I'd probably still be too afraid to cut it up, unlike the Montana agates I got from him instead. To be fair, at that point 35 pounds of agates was a better choice but still kicking myself.
