It hasn't taught me patience. Once I finished my first stage 1 on my first (Dan and Darci 1lb) tumbler I was hooked. So then I went out and bought two Harbor Freight 6lb double-barrel tumblers so I wouldn't have to wait so long to open them and see what I got! Now I have one barrel to open each day of Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, as well as my original D&D that I only run stage 1 river rock in, and which I get to open every 3 days, giving me at least two extra openings a week.... And I am strongly considering another HFT tumbler for Mondays and Wednesdays, or building a custom setup to run 7 barrels at once. It is definitely an addicting hobby for sure. There's always cabbing to consider - no waiting- just more $$

Sounds like you have a nice setup. I just recently bought 3 used Thumler's Tumblers and fixed them up. I went from 4-7 tumblers Can't wait to see your pics.

I found an old 6" trim saw with a 5/8" arbor for sale locally for cheap, so now I actually can make cabs if I want (though finding 6" 5/8 arbor disks is a bit of a pain). I am still working up to actually doing cabs, but it is fun to cut rocks open to see what they are like inside.

I took them back out after another week and they looked good to me so I started stage 2 on monday. I currently get on the forum mostly while I'm "working" so I haven't been able to upload photos and I don't think I'm smart enough to do it on my phone...LOL

Another option: These are the instructions I used to set up cloudinary. I did this on my computer and now can upload pics either from my computer or iphone. It looks like you can also do the set up from a phone in "desktop mode". That button is usually way down at the bottom of any page. (Then I go back to mobile mode for easier viewing after I'm done with whatever set up needed desktop mode.) Hope to see your tumbles soon... forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/thread/99564/members-upload-photos-using-cloudinary

Started my first tumble Saturday night in my Lortone. I’m excited and nervous to see how this goes!! Fingers crossed!! Excellent, another convert to the cult of lapidary. I will await your post in a few months bemoaning a new addiction. Welcome! You've found a great group -- lots of knowledge here and most excellent people. Watch out for jasoninsd and Rockoonz though; or before you know it you'll be making killer cabs & bringing home saws by the truckload. You will, however, learn a TON!

LOL It's too bad you weren't closer; a 14" Lortone LS drop saw went for $350 Canadian pesos this past weekend at the auction I was at (and an old Highland Park unit went for $2K). I immediately thought of Rockoonz.
