What should I do with these? These are a few pieces of ocean jasper I came across while checking and changing water/grit after 10 days in corse. Any advice on what to do with them? They have alot of crystal like pieces and a lot of raised formations. I didn't know if I should just keep tumbling and wear them away or not waste my time. They are beautiful stones so any advice is much appreciated. Edit: it isn't crystals as much as it is very shiny black points.

One of the issues with Ocean/Sea Jasper is that they are often loaded with crystal cavities, vugs, pits, etc.
If you are going to tumble it, you have to accept the fact that you will likely not have a perfect surface. My advice is to shape it until you are satisfied enough with the surface to move it to the next stages. Make sure you clean out all the cavities between stages to remove any left over grit/polish.

I had this same issue with some sea jasper I purchased. I agree with what hypodactylus said!

That's a pretty cool looking specimen! I had the same issue with a piece of Crazy Lace I just polished. It had a huge druzy pocket on one side/dimples on the other (I just shared a post with a pic of it). I tumbled this for probably 2 months as it got smaller and smaller - I struggled with whether to continue it on (for fear of grit contamination) but end of the day I loved it so much that I just made sure I really scrubbed it clean before moving it on. I've never used one (yet), but i bet an old water pic might work really well to blast out those holes.

I got a batch of Ocean Jasper a month or so ago and many pieces are similar to yours. I separated the ones that I could tell from the get-go would have issues and simply ran those in the vibe to ‘clean them up’, then threw them in the sonic cleaner for a while to get all the grit and other loose crud off. up They’re actually very pretty and fun a look at. A couple of them I tried to tumble and they end up looking like your bottom one, kinda mushed looking.

I am just going to keep them to the side until i can figure out what to do. A few others i didn't send pictures of i was able to use my dremel and get them tumble ready and turned pieces into smalls.
Some of my coolest rocks were from what was originally a small/filler rock trimmed from a bigger piece.
