That's interesting, I've never heard of that brand of tumbler or grit. Anyone know how good the tumblers are? They look spendy.

Here is the link... mjrtumblers.com/I came upon him on e-bay when I was totally new to the hobby and needed grit to use in the Harbor Freight Rotaries and he seemed to have the best prices at the time. Have since switched allegiance to the Rock Shed for when I need refills of the grit coffers.

rockybeach how do you find the HF tumblers? Are they working pretty well for you? Also thank you for the link. My Harbor Freight tumblers have had a tortured history but the two new ones are working fine at the moment (touch petrified wood !) The first one had to have the turnings shafts replaced when the covering on one of them self destructed (repair kit available on e-bay.) #2 had the motor killed by a barrel that needed to be "burped" and when it wasn't, the knob on the lid forced itself under the motor cover and #2 was kaputted. Both #1 and #2 were incredibly noisy ... examination by one someone more mechanically minded than RockyBeach determined that various parts were not "in sinc" or "balanced" or something. #1 has been cannibalized by #2 and is now set aside as an "emergency spare". Have now bought #3 and #4 (and an extended warranty) and have a better idea of what to watch for and how to oil etc. The metal cover on the motor has been removed and a wooden piece with a furniture glide has replace the little black tabs that keep the barrel from rubbing. The new barrels are checked for gas and burped as needed. It's amazing how quiet they are when they are working properly. Oh ... nearly forgot ... after reading how the HFs are a problem pully-wise and never having had one break ... three broke last week .. all on #3. No idea why! They do a pretty good job of tumbling once you get past the mechanical glitches of a cheaper machine and get a clue as to how to run them properly. and for the link, you are welcome

I had that problem with on of my tumblers. I also saw a tip from JawsJR on youtube. loosen the set screw on the motor pulley and then give the drive pulley a few turns that will align the two pulleys then tighten the set screw on the motor pulley. Hope that helps or at least you find a simple fix to your problem on that one.
