Hi everyone,
Does anyone know if Aluminum Oxide is left on the crystal after polishing, which is what causes its luster? I’m trying to decide whether I want to tumble my crystals again, but if Aliminum oxide is left on the outside of the crystal then I can’t/won’t because that takes away the benefits of the crystal. Thanks for the help in advanced!

I could be wrong but I do not think so, However, if there is any question you could always tumble them in water, and borax for a few hours should clean off any residue.

It’s not the aluminum oxide. Unless you’re just letting it dry on there without rinsing the rocks off and cleaning them well. It could be water deposits depending on how hard your water is, but will those will wipe off easy enough. So most likely it just didn’t take a good polish and came out with a more satin sheen, which can look like a light dusty covering.
