Yikes! Thank Dog this was clean out day!! I think one wrong tumble and I'd be doing a whole different clean out. When this happens I usually take some electrical tape/duct tape and criss/cross it over the weak spot. It will usually get me a fair bit longer before I decide I've tempted fate enough and I discard.

I have a headache and can’t think so well. What exactly are we looking at? Is that a tear in a Tumbler lid liner?

The thumler lids can only take so many stage 1 rounds before the lids give out. This one was paper thin right in the middle. It hadn't torn quite yet, but one rock corner into it the wrong (right) way would have caused a huge slurry spray. I got to it just in time!!

I pour the bottom level inside with e6000 glue. Got pvc and factory Lortone drums running for years like that.

I recently fixed the lid on one of my small tumblers by gluing 1/16 inch rubber to it. It’s similar to patching and inner tube. Basically cut out round patches from the sheet that I got off of Amazon and glue it with e6000. It’s held up great for several course runs so far. It’s an idea I got from somebody else here on the forum. For a larger tumbler 1/8” thick rubber would probably be better.

rocknewb101There probably aren’t too many batches left in that lid. That’s about as thin as it could get. I’ve never had one wear through but I can’t imagine anything good coming from it. Glad you caught it.

Second comment about e6000 glue - I'm not exactly sure what it is, but I'm looking it up lol..Whatever we can do to extend our equipment...this stuff ain't cheap ha!

It’s similar to shoo goo, except better. It is an excellent all around adhesive/sealant/repairer, and I use it extensively in my other hobby.
