Anyone here who has ever tumbled Llanite knows very well that it can be extremely difficult to get a good shine on that material at times. My trick to getting Llanite to take a good shine is to tumble it with good ole Llano Uplift Quartz all the way through the tumbling steps. If that doesn't do the trick to my satisfaction, I will polish it with wet polish pads rated at 600, 800, 1500 and 3000 grit then I will use a bench grinder that is fitted with hard cotton buffing wheels and a little bit of ZAM to make that Llanite really shine and pop like a million bucks. I can polish perfectly smooth but dull pieces of tumbled Llanite to a pretty incredible shine in under 30 minutes this way.

I’ve had pretty good luck with Llanite by running it through a rotary for the course stage and then my ray tech five vibratory for the rest of the stages.
