Going to be in the Lake Superior south shore area in a few weeks. Any suggestions for public access rockhounding locations along the south shore in Wisconsin? Not looking for secret hotspots, just would appreciate some suggestions other than exploring google maps. Thanks!

I've been watching YouTube videos by "Michigan Rocks". He seems to go to Lake Superior quite often, which is just on the other side of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. You may find some good information on his videos. He often gives the location where he's hounding. Good luck!

Yes, Rob’s videos are great. The UP areas he frequents are a significant distance from the Wisconsin side. I’ve since read that much of the Wisconsin south shore is sandy, so we’ll see. Thanks!

Despite living about an hour away from Superior, I haven’t been in the area for decades since I don’t drive… I think I am the closest active member 😆
