I went to college at UCSC (way back int he day), and my roommate and I would spend Easter Break backpacking around Big Basin, often ending our trip at Waddell Beach. Even then I remember admiring the variety of rocks. I should get down there soon and check it out! Thanks for posting!

Hey HPLC Man, I am a fellow Slug. I graduated in 2002! Thanks for the comments everyone! I cut the big gnarly agate in half and it’s pretty neat, but also pretty brown and opaque. Not the translucent amber I was hoping for. In other new my saw is working fantastic, with really smooth cuts.
