Hello everyone,
After months of lurking I finally decided to officially become part of the forum! I've always been interested in rocks and minerals since I was a child, but as an adult having moved to the geologically rich state of Oregon and more recently taken some geology courses – my interest has become a hyper fixation of near obsession for my ADHD addled mind. Also, being in a relationship with a Geotechnical engineer who shares interests in these areas, loves taking rockhound trips with me, and who actually lets me take home too many rocks (having been heavily discouraged in past relationships – say what, you don't want bins of rocks sitting around the house?) has help immensely cultivate my love for rocks and minerals. I've been trying to absorb as much knowledge as I can about the geology around me, collect rocks and minerals from different locations and learn to identify, and further understand how it formed and got there. I now have an interest in the art of lapidary and I'm trying to learn as much as I can with what little materials I have. I do hope to be able to build some of my own equipment with the help of everyone having been inspired by others DIY project. This forum as been a great resource for me to look through, and now I feel I am at a place to actually be able to contribute and in turn learn more.
