I have some I sort of know, but need some confirmation. First one. Mescalero, or Blue Dream Jasper? Possible maligano as well, but if so it's vastly different from the others I have. 1. Blue Dream Mescalero - Figured it out. Second. Either Rocky Butte or Owyhee. I know both are technically Owhyhee, but I've seen it listed as old stock rocky butt and old stock owyhee, so I want to be as accurate as possible. 2. Third - Fordite, Bowlerite, or surfite? If it helps, this is a very small piece - about 2". It photographed much larger than it is. 3. Firdite - Thank you pebbleskyFourth Variscite, or Burma (Myanmar) Maw Sit Sit, or some other green thing? 4. Variscite - Lucin, Utah - thank you rockjunquie and gemfellerAnd last - I first thought Ocean Wave, but when I photgraphed it, I thought it might be Kaleidoscope. Ok truth be told, this isn't a this or that, but I had those two guesses when I saw it. Other guesses welcome! 5. Thank you!

Currious to know if the fractures on the first one are completely healed.

Yes, it's like smooth porcelain. Let's inspect this closely.

1, wondering if the first two names are both from Nevada. All the Maligano I have seen appeared to have messier busier patterns and features than yours so I am also tentatively crossing Maligano out.
3 looks Fordite to me.

So when you mentioned both being Nevada, I dug around and figured out the ID for the first slab. It turns out, Blue Dream is from the same mine or claim as the Mescalero - so it's a variant of Mescalero. I had seen this material listed both ways, so I think either name is technically correct, but the older Mescalero has less of the "spots" of brecciated material. In my personal collection, I have seen slabs similar labeled both as Blue Dream and as Mescalero. I think at the end if they are all together, it will be easier to distinguish between the two.

rockjunquie and gemfeller - thank you both for the variscite ID and the location. I thought it was variscite, but I always try and verify my material through an image search. When I saw the Burma material pop up, I thought I had better double check with you guys!

When I saw the Burma material pop up, I thought I had better double check with you guys! This is Maw Sit-Sit I cut a long time ago. It's pretty distinctive in appearance but could be confused with some jades, both jadeite and nephrite. It's not a true jade but a mixture of several minerals, including chloromelanite jade. It's lovely stuff and i wish I'd been able to afford more when it was more "affordable". But not for me.

Thank you for the photo and explanation gemfeller . It's really pretty and the look is quite distinct! I want to show you the material which made me question this slab being Variscite. link It's called Maw sit Sit, but looks nothing like the Maw Sit Sit you showed. I haven't researched this material other than the link I'm showing here.

It's not far away and I've done business with them on a limited basis.
