Awesome job John. Hey, try backing one of those pieces with some obsidian, I bet that would look pretty cool.

Sands, That's just too cool! Isn't it amazing what can be done with our oooppsies! It looks like it was from a piece of carnival glass. I just hope for CP's sake it was a reproduction OR maybe ya better ship him off a nice piece back when yer done so he can make peace with whomever owned it first!

dang sands...that turned out wonderful ;D..i am so surprised that a peice of glass could be worked like that....the photo is all i asked in return for the glass...thanks.
181lizard...nope it wasnt a repro...it was an actual fenton holly bowl produced from 1900-1911...it was 1 of the best colored peices i had ever seen...in the holly pattern.
my son..or his cat... broke this bowl about 4 years ago...i still dont know the truth ;D ;D ;D
and probably never will....hahahahaha.
i love it sands...thanks for showing.

Someday you will know the truth Kevin. My son is now 23 and has finshed university (so, I'm no longer doling out money) and he has taken to "confessing"... I'm beginning to think I lived in an alternate universe because I had NO CLUE about some of the stuff. I think he just likes shocking me. So, be prepared...he may not be hiding the truth, he may just be saving up til you're old enough to have a heart attack!!!!
BTW nice glass - is it wrapped or did the glass just show through with blue when you ground it down? It is absolutely gorgeous!

Ohhh...so sorry CP! I saw the pics & while I'm no expert...it really did look like the real stuff. I too broke things when younger & now my daughter (27) is fessing up to the mysteries around our house! I don't know how big those bits & pieces are when Sands gets done, but I can see them very clearly hooked together with chains (maybe one that's been antiqued) in between as a beautiful necklace!

Nice Sandsman1! I got some pieces of that bowl also from Kevin. Have been cutting the leaves out with my glass saw and plan to use them in a stained glass window that I have started to design. When it's done (and I figure out how to post a picture on this thing), I share my end product also. It is gorgeous glass!
Happy day to all

i think this stuff shapped up easy it was alittle softer then obsidian but kinda the same with tryin to get it to shine maybe alittle easyer
CQ id like to see what you get from it i didnt think it would look as nice at first glance so it was a surprize the blue is very cool
KEV i wanna try a whole leaf and if i like how it comes out ill send it to you this way you will at least have a small memory of it --- thanks for the challenge
