Those are really something!! As a guy who has spent a huge amount of time "prospecting" in those rugged creeks that come off of the rivers (in my case, for west slope cutthroat - at least until now) I can really appreciate what that's like!
For those of you outside of Western Washington, hiking creek or a small river into uncharted territory can be an incredible effort! The overgrowth can be incredibly thick, the footing can be terrible, and it's straight uphill most of the way. Hiking in the rivers is even worse for footing. Add to that blackberry briars, poison oak and the occasional wasp nest and you've got a tough afternoon ahead of you!
That's HARD work! Beautiful rocks, though. I'm going to stop watching the water and start watching the rocks on the shore more often!
Are you sure you don't want to share location? Maybe accept a bribe?

Hey Shorty! I live just a couple miles north of there in Olympia. Do they hunt rocks around here? I would think the Yelm area south to the East of Centralia would turn out something. The soil through there is ridiculously loaded with rocks. People have a hard time putting in gardens it's so rocky.

There have been a ton of them up in the Cascades and Olympics. In fact, the Sonic's mascot is a guy in a Sasquatch suit. The native americans here have him in their legends. Bigfoot is sort of a local guy, apparently. In all the years I've spent up in the mountains, though, I haven't seen anything even remotely Bigfoot-like. Plenty of deer, elk, bald eagles and salmon, and the occasional bear, but no Bigfoot, Yeti, Sasquatch, or whatever you want to call it. I've seen some really really big cougar tracks (which freaked me out a little - ok, a lot). Does that count?

Thanks George! If you have ANYTHING for King County that would be fun, though I am sure it is either on private land, paved over or totally tapped by now. Still, doesn't hurt to look Xena is in Pierce County, fwiw. Now if Tryb was interested in having a bit of a field trip anywhere near to where he found these beauties, I would love to follow. Didn't he post fairly recently?

Try
Just thank your lucky stars that you live in an area that can produce gems like these. Many of us would have to drive hundreds of miles to even get close to a find like yours. Wonderful haul. Nice job.
