So, as usual, I'm watching the local classified for tumblers...and spotted one this weekend! Not as good a deal as others, but I landed a Lortone 3A for $65 Canadian. It had been used for about 2 loads and was squeaky clean - brand new! The best part for me was that it still had grits, which tend to represent a lot of value. In with the grits was a neswpaper clipping dated 1992. So, this lady had this tumber for 12 years and it was only used twice. Interesting thing was that I took it home and compared it to my 2003 3A and there was almost no difference. Construction and motor has not changed at all. Anyhoo, in the "package" was this polish. Any idea what it is? Never seen such a blood red polish before. FYI, the name on the label was the same for all of the grits, so Hy-Pol has no significance for the polish itself.

hi skip im pretty sure thats this stuff
Red Rouge - Use with walnut shell to polish jewelry and brass shell cartridges. Inexpensive tumbler polish. A little Red Rouge goes a long way, you won't need very much. It will leave a residue on polished items which will need to be washed off.
i found the same looking polish on the rockshed site

I got a little bottle of this in with a used tumbler I got on eBay. Any idea how it equates to the other polishes?

Thanks all! Looks like we are case closed on this one. With John's tip, I searched it on google and all info says use only for silver/brass polish. It's not meant for rocks. I will set it aside.

i believe that it will also put a shine on chrome, not that new cars have much, if any....they used to sell stuff called "rubbing compound" in car parts places, will take light scratches out of (auto) paint work, too...same stuff.

Rouge. Rouge is iron oxide, powdered. It can make a mess, but it cleans up. Great find.
