The new Lortone aluminum motor pulleys arrived yesterday. I drilled them out with a .242" drill bit and mounted them. No slippage at all! However I noticed that the motors were really straining at start-up. This morning one of them wouldn't start at all, even if I "helped" it by turning the shaft. I was using the belts I picked up on E-Bay, which are a hair shorter and a hair thicker than the stock C.E. belts, so I put the stock belt back on -- that did the trick.
So... If you upgrade (or repair) your C.E. machine with a Lortone pulley, make sure the motor is moved all the way toward the driven pulley (the 4 motor screws mount through slots in the frame to permit adjustment). If the motor still seems to be straining and you are using aftermarket belts, try putting a stock C.E. belt on it. Works for me!

Thanks for the info Mark, I ordered Lortone belts, anyone have any idea if there's a lot of difference between the two?
