Cher, BE and I have a 10" similar to the one you are looking at. We got it at Homier Traveling Hardware or something like that for $169.00. I have been real happy with it. It will slice right though some fairly good sized rocks and I've not noticed any saw marks on the slabs I have cut. I might not be looking close enough to see them though, so don't take my word for it! I'm blind as a bat in bright sunlight! We have a DeWalt blade on it. I do want to get a diamond lapidary blade for it because I know we wouldn't have as much waste with a lapidary blade. But, all in all, I'm happy with the saw.
One of these days, I would like to make a slab saw - a BIG one, but time is a factor and also a place for it. BE and I have been talking and collecting usable wood so we can build us a workshop. Hopefully, when spring comes, we can actually DO IT, rather than just talk about it.
I will probably get a little bit of money for Christmas and have been trying to decide if I want a diamond wheel for the grinder or a lapidary blade for the saw! Decisions, decisions!
