This is part of an article that was in the "Detroit News" today. It talks about thinking outside the box in creating and wearing jewelry. I think that our "rock jewelry" should fit right in with this.

Ever wonder why you paid a fortune for your evening ensemble and no one seemed to notice you, but then another woman sauntered into the party wearing a simple outfit and all heads turned in her direction?
Maybe it was her perfect makeup, radiant hair or extraordinary beauty. Most likely, she turned heads because she wore a different look with her accessories, says Molly Bosco, chief designer for Bosco Designs of Farmington Hills.
The flight attendant-turned jewelry designer, whose artsy, one-of-a-kind pieces are displayed at her Studio B in Farmington Hills, Saks Fifth Avenue in Troy and trendy boutiques such as the Art Loft in Birmingham, says you can turn heads this holiday season if you break out of the single-strand-white-pearl box to try something different. She suggests mixing your favorite pieces and wearing them with jewelry you wouldn't have dared tried before.
"I encourage this kind of creativity," says the 35-year-old wife and mother of two. "Wear something that makes a statement and lend your own personality to it."
Stop sticking to traditional ways to wear jewelry and throw your old ideas out of the window, Bosco says. Forget about what your mother told you too.
Lately, she's been taking vintage shoe buckles and transforming them into necklaces and bracelets. She created a new line of necklaces by attaching brooches and faux fur to strands of pearls. She encourages women who seek a fresh look to use that same spirit of adventure.
"Feel like you're breaking the rules," she says. "Have fun with your accessories. Keep thinking of new ways to wear them."
