All my burrs/bits are so dull they wouldn't drill hot butter! I need some advice/info on what kind I should get. I have been using 40 grit diamond burrs and some bits I got at the rock show this past spring. Once I got to drilling it didn't take long to use them all up! Sands or somebody posted a link to a package of 25 that I was looking at but forgot to save the page! llana

Are you lubricating your bits? They are also more for the speed of a full tilt dremel than with a shaft, or a foredom. Bits are for using fast and lightly, with a parafine lube.

Doc, I lubricate with water with a bit of borax in it and drill at the highest speed. I also do the pulse thing you said to do on another post way back when.
Weah, what is a parafine lube?

i got a dremel model 800 which has a battery and charger so it is cordless, its nice. it goes up to 35,000 rpm, i remember people talking about certain speeds to use for the best efficiency of the burrs. how fast should i be using the diamond burrs at?

Jewelers use it on their bench for burrs. It is blue, comes in either a tube or button for the bench. It really is wonderful stuff. It is parafin based, has some silicone, is Lamar blue, and lasts forever. Rio has it. It is in either a tube or comes on a button that screws to the bench.

Dremel makes a chuck for the tool. It replaces the four collets and is pretty handy.
