I don't know what kind of weather you all are having but it started icing Monday, yesterday it sleeted and rained ice pellets and today it is snowing alot. The storm was to have passed through by 6 a.m. this morning, that didn't happen. Tami

I suggest you all build a snowcave and keep cosy.
We had a fierce thunderstorm 2 days ago , which flooded part of my garden for a second time this week.
We had an inch-- 25mm-- in an hour. One roadside fuse was blown so we had partial power in the house . gave us romantic dim lights . Not enough power for computer and fax/phone or TV . Lucky the cooking range was still operational so we did manage to cook the evening meal. And the tumblers were all OK , tumbling as if nothing had happened. A town further inland , had a ferocious hailstorm with anywhere between 15 and 45 cm of hail or 6 to 18 inches . Some tourists had just gone into a small cave system ,not near that hail, and were lucky to survive as the sudden downpour caused a sudden flood that flooded the cave. They were rescued by midnight after 6 hours stuck in that cave with water chest high.
And I think that although it is supposed to be midsummer now , spring has just started. AT LAST !!! Our december is the coldest , wettest and least sunshine on record. Coldest by 4,5 degrees C on daily average . No wonder we had the fire going almost nonstop . Fruit is late ripening by 3 or more weeks . Flowers in the garden are having a hard time too , the cold loving plants flower for much longer and the heatloving ones are looking extremely dismal.
But there is warm weather on the way for next week so the experts say. We will be gone north then to a warmer climate for our sons wedding .
Take care in the cold all you northerners.
Jack

Gads, it has been miserable here. The sun has been shining for weeks now, it has been getting into the '80's. My bananna tree has had to be watered every day now. The Aloe is looking like it is drying out. I have had to roll my sleeves all the way up, and my wife is gardening in shirtsleeves. I keep asking myself, "what the heck am I doing here? What was I thinking?" I so miss the arctic. I have been dreaming of the auroara, whales breaking through the ice, polar bears fishing, Kodiak bears rolling over rocks looking for Crawdads barely moving. 83 degrees and all I can think of is Nunavik.

We got our 10 inches of snow on the 1st but this last one that's hitting you guys missed us. We had a nice arctic clipper that kept it from getting up to us. "Nice" is just a figure of speech though ... we're freezing our up here. The only nice thing about it was it kept that storm from hitting us. I really feel for all of you and hope that things pass quickly. Keep your power, keep warm. Cher

70's in GA too, and I hate it it. But i do feel for all of you suffering the bad weather, there's nothing fun about it. I just want to wear a coat in January, for goodness sake! This is too much like SE Texas. I love having a summer, winter, spring and fall, so lets get on with winter here ;D

70's here too - until today when the temp dropped 20 degrees in a couple of hours. 48 tomorrow and windy, 50's Friday, 60's Saturday and back up in the 70's Sunday. Suit me fine if the temp never got below 80! I could do without the cold! And if I really, really missed it, I could go to the cold, rather than it coming to me! llana

It's around Zero degrees right now and the funny thing is it doesn't seem to bad anymore. Not even bothering to zip up the jacket when I go outside. Of course there's no wind at the moment.
Shorty, what do you mean it's starting to snow in upper Michigan? I thought in the winter months, it never really stops.

Woke up this morning and didn't see anything close to the 5-8 inches of snow that said was coming. I've accumulated between 2 and 3 inches over the last 48 hours. That hardly qualifies as a "winter storm". It's also been staying fairly warm. Still in upper 20's.
