My first batch of rocks to make it to polish since last spring and I opened it to check after 4 days. The water was amazingly clear! Happens that way when you forget to put the polish in. Another 4 days wasted. Ron

i did that with a batch of 60/90 only i'd forgotten to add the WATER! (duh). i checked after a few days and those rocks had started to shape! didn't do the barrel any lasting harm either.

This is going to happen to me one of these times yet. I don't know how many times I closed up the barrel and was ready to let it roll and realized I forgot the grit. What nice clean rocks you must have

i haven't done it yet but it is just a matter of time. people who open the microwave and say hello when the phone is ringing just might do anything. and once i went into a store and as they handed me my change i politely said "thank you come back to see us" and didn't realize what i'd done until i got outside lol. wondered why they looked so puzzled ;D.

Cookie, BE tumbles dry in 46/70 or 60/90 all the time. I have done it a few times, but I think the mess is a hundred times worse than tumbling wet. Works though - doesn't hurt the rocks or barrel.
Kim, that is too funny! I have done some real goofy stuff, but can't top saying hello to the microwave! LOL!
Forgot the grit/polish - HMMMM, been there, done that!

LOL I Did just that the other day but the other way around. Put the polish in but forgot the water. It only tumbled that way for a few minutes tho, it sounded different so I had to open it up to check. DUH ... Glad it was only a few minutes and there was a lot of plastic pellets. I'd have been very upset if it had banged up the rocks.

Speaking a lapses. Here's one for you.
I decided to wash the car after 2 weeks of rain, a sunny warm day. Before starting to wash the car, I decide to check the fluids - oil, water, brake fluid, etc. The oil looked a little low, so... I decided to change the oil and filter. The oil is drained and a new filter is installed, I look into the cabinet and there is only ONE quart of oil.
The wife needed a break so she went shopping and probably won't be back till late! Luckily, one of my neighbors drove by and asked why the tires are blocked while I am washing the car. After explaining my bonehead move, and he stops laughing his a** off, he offered to pick me up oil while in town! What a great neighbor!
