;DI think something similar was posted here once, but I recently have used "Decor Marbles"from Michael's Crafts as filler in rotary and vibes. These are a fairly hard plastic with angular, not round ,shapes. They did not interfere with the polish and seemed to help the movement in the vibe and quiet it some.I had one very large rock in a vibe run that was sticking up above the load as it went around 'till I added a bunch of these{the tumbler is only supposed to be filled two-thirds full.}.I would suggest using the clear ones;the dyed ones might leach.Mike.

Hi Mike, Run your lot "O" full to the top, NOT 2/3 full as with rotary tumblers I had some fair sized slabs in my last batch (full to the top) and they came out "Mirrow shine" see my post in Photo section. I will have to see if I can get these Plastic marbles over here sound like a good buy.
Steph I find the little ones so easy to float of and into a strainer, I cant understand how you find it so difficult .
Or are they NON floatr's ?

I saw plastic beads at the local Walmart craft department. These have holes in the center and are smooth at the hole opening. I was wondering if anyone has any comment on this shape for enhanced tumbling performance.
