I was going to run my petrified wood batch again using 60/90 (third time) Should I rinse it off and start with water or just add the grit to the thick mud?

Hi I always wash rocks and barel at each change of grit befor recharging with new grit, (I add a tea spoon of wall paper glue crystals to thicken so the grit sticks to the rocks & starts to work quicker) just my system !!
And double wash and burnish with Borax for 24 hours at the end of the stage
this prolonged wash washes out any particle of grit left behind as well as smothing the rocks ,
