This may be old stuff to some of you pros, but maybe I can help someone out.
My inner rubber gasket on my 12# Lortone wore completely out, to the point I would go check on it and all my grit would be on the floor.
I went to town today to see my tire man and he gave me an inner tube. Then went by the hardware store and picked up a bottle of Elmers Rubber Cement. Took them back home and cut out a circle a little bigger than needed and glued it to the lid. When the glue was dry, I trimmed off the excess.
I put the lids back on the tumbler and started it up again. Wala! No leaks. The inner tube is a not as thick as the original rubber so it may not last as long and I don't have a clue about how long the rubber cement will last. If I have any trouble I'll post it here.
Time: 15 minutes to make the gasket. 2 Hours to let it dry Cost: 2 bucks for the glue.

I have done the same thing, but I have found that if you don't glue the gasket on it lasts longer, I also use an old tractor tire innertube, they seem to be thicker.

I've got a Thumler's Model B & my gasket wore out pretty quickly. I took some old car mats (the rubber type with the thin carpet on the top side) It's a little hard to cut with scissors but not impossible. There are little nubs on the bottom side in the rubber to help the mats grip the carpet in the car, those quickly wore off! LOL! I'm on my 3rd load now about 3 months & it's still holding up very well. I've got another mat laying around that I'm definitely going to use as my next gasket when this one finally wears down. Much thicker rubber than an inner tube/tire. Last

Hi I used to line Paint tins befor I got a Lortone barrel with cut off's from Horse Box Ramp covering .
This is quite hard and long wearing It didnt wear a drum out after fitting .
It is also flat , I tried tractor tube in the barrels but it didnt work due to the curveture of the tube
