Here's the best stuff I've found for getting grit and mud and slurry out from under my nails and off my skin, plus the best two moisturizers all from Lee Valley Tools (leevalleytools.com). They're easy to order from too - doesn't matter where you are in the world! worlds kindest nail brush (I use them to clean the barrels, rocks too. Soft but inexpensive and surprisingly durable - they come clean too)~ www.leevalley.com/garden/page.aspx?c=1&cat=2,42551&p=10259 soap~ www.leevalley.com/garden/page.aspx?c=1&p=45859&cat=2,42551,45150&ap=1 badger balm (bag balm is great too - it just doesn't smell as nice)~ www.leevalley.com/garden/page.aspx?c=1&cat=2,42551&p=45816 Nope, I don't work for them, I just love their products and customer service!

I use GoJo to get my hands clean. Mechanics use it to remove engine grease. You can even get it with lanolin.
