If it is quartz, you can try sodium bisulfate. If it is halite, good bye halite. Sodium bisulfate is commonly known as PH decreaser for pools. It is also known as Sparex in the jewelery trades. Make a thick solution, boil it to mix it, let it cool, put the quartz in it and go away for a week. Should do well, won't hurt the quartz. Any metal inclusions will be gone, organics will go away, and it is easy to dilute and remove.

What an abstract that is.
I'd definately jetwash it, then just leave as is. A paperweight? maybe a fireplace object?
Sometimes the way the rock forms is nice enough?
Seems like a nice cluster to me anyway.
Leave as is.
Andy.

Quartz vs Halite ...
This is one way of telling if Halite is present ...
Lick the crystal ... if it has a strong taste of salt ... it's most probably Halite.
Quartz doesn't have a taste ... unless it's dirty then it taste like dirt. Or if an animan releaved itself on the crystal ... it would taste like ... well you get the idea.
Enjoy,
John
