hi everyone...got another newbie question for you. how should my rocks look after the 220 cycle?? i am working on my first batch (still) and just completed the 220 stage. my rocks look similar to when they came out of 60/90. the only difference is the rocks look better when wet. is this correct??...or did i do something wrong? thnx again for all your help!!!

That sounds about right- The rocks should look like you want them to look as far as shape, pits, chips, go- I always think of 220 as cleaning off the scratches from 60/90- not much grinding or shaping- just clean up

Stefan's right, all your shaping should be done prior to going into the second stage. After that, each progressive grit just works on removing the scratches of the previous grit until all you have left is shine. And if your using Aluminum Oxide polish, steel yourself to leave it running for a minimum of 10 days, there's quite a difference in the quality and depth of the shine.
