2.97 (Cash Price) This morning at the Arco just west of I-5 Hyw 99 exit. Don't know where you live in the couv but, over the weekend I saw several stations at the 2.97 point.

My turbo car needs premium, I drove about 1600 miles round trip to Oregon this last weekend, least expensive gas I saw was on 97 in Chemult OR, 3.199/gal. Worst was back in CA at Weed, 3.729!, and my average mpg was just 25.
Might be time to pick up a turbo diesel VW or Mercedes.....

Nightop...The am/pm at salmon creek is where I fill up at. Sunday it was 2.97 & this am...3.05. I figure by Thursday it'll be up again.
I'm a couple of blocks from WSU at Salmon Creek and close to the new hospital up here too!

There is one place close to me that has (had) it for 2.66. Everyone else is 2.75-2.85. I can see where this is going to seriously hamper my rock hunting this summer.

It's $2.89 around here in our town. What gets me is the stations raise the price as soon as the news says the price went up $2 for a barrel of oil. Before they can even get it here and refine it.

Have you ever noticed that the price at the pump can vary up to 30 cents in a week but the price of oil on the shelf inside doesn't move a penny. Came out of the same barrel didn't it ??

There seems to be some refininery shortage in this country. Big Biz claims its the treehuggers fault but I gotta believe that Exxon etc like having a tight capacity on refining crude. It's good for the bottom line when you can take a refinery offline for service. Or take your time rebuilding after a hurricane.

If we refined all of our own oil, the price of gasoline would skyrocket. It only becomes economically feasible to refine our own oil - or even pump our own oil - when oil prices are above ~$48/barrel. One barrel of crude oil = 19.5 gallons of gasoline after the refining process.
Yes, big oil companies make money. I don't think the price-gouging accusations are fair, however. The price at the pump does reflect the futures market which controls the price of oil coming into the country. The price is raised when the futures market says oil is going to be expensive (for whatever panicky reason) and lowered when they change their mind. The price of the oil entering the country - AT THAT MOMENT - costs the oil company more than it did the day before. So everyone sees that increased cost at the pump that day (or the set day for raising or lowering prices). They don't wait to raise the price until the oil that they paid for three months ago hits the pumps - that just doesn't make sense.

who do you think is most heavily invested in the oil futures market?
How else other than shennanigans can you explain the apparently constant margins between crude prices and gas prices- yet the oil companies are repeatedly reporting the highest profits of ANY corporations IN THE HISTORY OF HUMANITY???
They aren't just making money, they are making ENORMOUS AMOUNTS of money.
And those that are hurt the most are those that can least afford it.
