If 7-Eleven is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, why do they have locks on the doors?

Now here is a puzzler I'll bet everyone has wondered about at least once: When you approach a set of double glass doors at a store, why is one of them always locked?? What purpose can this possibly serve? Personally, I suspect the store owners are watching from a distance to see how many people jerk their wrists off reaching for the locked door.

Why are there no size "B" batteries ? Answer: B cause too many dumb people were confusing them with the number eight so they had to stop making them. Condor

If 7-Eleven is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, why do they have locks on the doors? Answer: If they didn't, then they would be known as Lockless Mon-Stores, and that would be terribly bad for business. Condor

What purpose can this possibly serve? Personally, I suspect the store owners are watching from a distance to see how many people jerk their wrists off reaching for the locked door. Answer: Because people tend to have a perverted sense of humor and enjoy watching other people make fools of themselves. Just like you said. Condor
