Thank you my dear friends and God bless you all, I know with the power of prayer, she will be ok. I told her about posting and she said to thank you all, it means so much to her that people she doesn't even know will say a prayer for her. You all are helping to make her stronger!!

Cher,
I know this thread was started by you to ask good thoughts and prayers for you and your Mom, but each day as I read over what RTH members are posting, I feel blessed, too. There is such a reaffirmation of all that is good about humanity here. Thank you for bringing us something so special even in your own troubling time.
Sending continuous good thoughts and Circles of Love.

Just got back from seeing the oncologist with my Mom and still don't know a lot. He wants her to have another colonoscopy, but first he wants a PET scan and a biopsy ... PET scan first to identify the best place to do the biopsy. I asked him straight out if he, in all his years of practice, thought it was cancer but he said there's just not enough evidence yet to say one way or the other. He also added that because of this, he feels that if it is cancer, it's definitely treatable and/or curable. That's a good thing!!
He also said that "in retrospect" the radiologist now sees evidence on Mom's previous CT scan that was missed by whoever read it back then. I'd like to give that person some "in retrospect" of my own .... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
He said it would be strange for colon cancer to be returning after this long so he doesn't think it's anything like that but if it is, he didn't feel there would be anything they could do about it surgically. They've made so many breakthroughs in colon cancer just in the five years since Mom had it that now they treat it more like diabetes, something you can live with.
Keep them prayers and good vibes coming.

We (hopefully) should know by next Tuesday what we're dealing with, they are doing a biopsy this morning. I wish I could be doing this for her ...

Cher,
If you were doing this in place of your Mom, then she would be fretting over you. You are doing something more powerful now than taking her place. Through your Love, you are doing this WITH her, giving her the extra strength and courage she needs to face the worrisome unknown. And both of you are carrying all the love and positive energies being sent your way by your friends here at RTH.

My mother has cancer again, they said it's from the colon cancer. It's very slow growing and the doctor assures us it's very treatable, potentially curable. They are putting the port in on Monday and she starts treatment on Wednesday. I think it just sucks! At 84, she didn't need to have to do this again.
