Wow guys! This is a cool thread - brings back some cool memories of growing up! One of my favorite bands was always Van Halen. But more than the band, I was always fascinated by Eddie Van Halen's guitar playing. He always had some awesome solos, cranking it out with some unbelievable sounds like no one else could. Here's a couple of him doing his 'Eruption' renditions....
In the prime......
A little newer and more mello......

Very cool Parfive!
Sands - Those are great videos and three of my favorites too! Did you hear that Van Halen is back together again - with Roth as their frontman again! Eddie's boy, Wolfgang, is their new bass player also - I think I heard that he is only 15, but rocks as hard as his old man! Here's a video of them from a couple weeks ago....

I got to see the Van Halen 1984 tour. Way cool. Still have the t-shirt. My daughter wore it to High School a couple of years ago. One of her teachers said "Hey, that's an authentic not a reproduction; it's probably worth a lot of money." To which my daughter replied "Doesn't matter, we're not selling it."
Anyway, on to the videos, from a few of my favorite southern rockers, hope I post the links right...I just copied and pasted:
I saw this tour too...still have that t-shirt...it doesn't meet the school dress code.
I've seen these guys nine or ten times and they never get old, same three guys playing the same three chords for over three decades, that's right that Little Ole Band from Texas...if you've never seen them, save your pennies and go.
I've kind of gotten into Zakk Wylde and Black Label Society lately...pretty heavy but Zakk can lay it down:
I've also become acquainted with the music of Drive By Truckers, they don't usually wear the makeup, it was a Halloween gig:
Later,
the max

Couldn't find any good videos of these guys on YouTube but if you like STYX, Night Ranger and Damn Yankees Tommy Shaw and Jack Blades are together doing a bunch of great covers on an album called "Influences". They sound great man!
The Max, you mentioned Drive by Truckers... one of my favorite bands of today are Old 97's. They are sometimes compared to DBT but I think Old 97's have been around longer. They are an ACQUIRED taste but I can't get enough of them.
Sands, love the Frankenstein! Check out a little cut from APP:

Yeah Zepp! My favorite song ever...
Having been a drummer I think the drums in Sultans of Swing are what make me love it so much, the change-ups make this song.
