Here is a little cab I made from chert. No dop stick, just a few singed fingertips! Fun!!

That "chertainly" is a nice cab Joe. Gonna start getting more into cabs now?

Lol. Chertainly! I would like to practice and learn to make a size-calibrated cab. Or two. That one was freehanded and it is very difficult for me to make a round circle without drawing a line! Heck, it's proving difficult to cut a circle WITH a line. But I would like to be able to do it so more practice... I also need to dop more stones and saw some small slabs up. Everything else has gone by the wayside while I grind rock. My first SC wheel is toasted! It started out at 6'', now it's about 3''. The flange plates on my grinder are 3''. I ordered an 8'' 80 grit diamond wheel from jadecarver. Must--grind--Stone.

That my friend was a wise move. Jadecarver has the best prices on diamond wheels. Once you grind on a diamond wheel, you'll wonder why you even used a SC wheel in the first place. One diamond wheel will out last 5 or 6 SC wheels, and you can get rid of the wheel dresser too. Now, get yourself a few diamond belts, and you'll be set for a long time.

Joe, Is it to late to cancel that order for the diamond wheel ? I have a 8 inch wheel just sitting around and would send it to you for nothing. Let me know. Tony

WOW joe- it is your lucky day!!!!!! So nice tony- but heck we all know your a helluva guy anyway!!!!- Joe- circles are a hoot once you get the hang of it- I can't do em freehand (got to use the templates) but they are a blast to dome- I've got a TIgereye I'm working on right now- oh and I think there is still a Burro Creek disc floating around somewhere

This really is a good day. I have Diamonds coming in the mail! Diamonds from two seperate people! Tony and Stef are both sending me diamonds!! Ok, ok, I'll go take my meds now. Calm is good. Here is a small sodalite cab. I "freehanded" the circle on this by grinding down to the edge of the dop stick. Not exactly conventional but it worked.
