It's been a few days since I did any new cabs(had to do some REAL work) but here are 7 new ones. Sagenite 40x30mm Another Sagenite 40x30mm Swazi Bloodstone 40x26mm-This one was a cabo-gone right off the saw, so that's why it's 4mm thinner. Graveyard Plume 30x22 Freeform Graveyard Plume 35x20mm These next 2 are material that Cal gave me. Mamamby Jasper 40x30mm Agua Nueva Agate. 32x22mm I flipped it upside down and took a second pic to try and show the "eye" and the druzy pocket a little better. And here it is back-lit And that's it for this time.

Oh Yeah!! Those are too cool I love them all!!
And more, that swazi bloodstone looks like you put a puzzle together, that is so cool! Still like the Graveyard Plume Point the best, you really captured something special in those.

Oh Wow!! The freeform graveyard looks like underwater life. It's awesome! The agua nueva (I had to look at that three times just to spell it) is worth looking at more than three times! All the rest, man, you are talented!

Thanks. The freeform plume agate was made into a cab just because I didn't want it to go to waste. The auga nueva looks really cool in person. The red parts in the agate look like they are floating.

Gotta tell ya...that Nueva Agate is SAWEET! Druzy is soo pretty, but I'm thinkin that Mamamby jasper is my fav. cause of the green. (I have a penchant for green)

Yummmm! They are all real nice! Each one is so unique it is hard to pick a favorite. I am curious as to whether you filled the druzy vugs with wax to work with them. Also curious if anyone has a simple way of getting green wax out of vugs.

Ed, the freeform to me is the best one. You oreintated the PLume perfect in that one, and the shape really fits it well.
Page; i never had to use wax in druzy. BUt you could try either boiling it out in a pot of hot water, not too hot bcasue the stone may break. Or using acetone and soak the stone, clean out eax, resoak, continue until wax is all out. Or try an ultrasonic cleaner too.

Thanks everyone. I think the graveyard plume is my favorites too. I'm working up another freeform with the leftover slab and it looks like a completly different stone. Pagestone, I've never used wax in adruzy pocket, but I think KD did and wrote a post about how she did it.

i did, indeed.......Bear told me how to dop with druzy, you use sugar to plug the vug. it's water soluable. take some tape on the side you are going to grind and fill the back with sugar. then wax the back. remove the tape (tap out the sugar) and grind, repeat to polish the back.
i wouldn't have a clue how to get wax out once IN a druzy....

KD, what if the druzy pocket doesn't go all the way through, like in the case of the auga nueva agate I did?

Great way to get wax outta a vug is to soak in rubbing alcohol- takes a couple days but it works!
