every time we flush old pills or pills we're no longer taking down the toilet...this is one way it can end up back in our drinking water. yuck

Something like this came up about a year or two ago. The story was that ocean fish on our coasts where loaded with Prozac. In the story they explained that all the drugs we take eventualy end up down the drain and into the water system. There aren't any filters for this stuff so it ends up in the drinking water.

That doesn't bother me as much as the fact that we get re-cycled waste water. lol..... I haven't drank tap water in probably 15 years or more, I just don't like water. Yeah, I know, water is supposed to be good for us. I drink soda, beer, and milk (mixed with Kaluha) ;D

Haha I know, it's just troubling to think about the places our drinking water has been. It's why some parts of the world just drink beer.

Ummmmm.......I'm afraid I'm one of the offenders in this case. What I pee out would probably knock most of you on your asses. But I don't think most of you would mind.......... ;D Turq

Yeah - I was thinking about the OVER medicating they do, in addition to people dumping pharms. down the toilet.

(chuckle).......I got your curiosity up, didn't I, cpdad? But what one med would you not want your grandad drinking? Let me just say this - about 12 years ago I had surgery on a herniated disc in my back. The surgery didn't go well - lots of post-op problems, doc had nicked my dura during surgery and caused many problems. 12 years later, I'm dealing with scar tissue from that site pressing on the nerve going down my leg, and chronic pain. (I've since had another surgery fusing two vertibrae in my neck with a titanium plate) I'm on Kadian (a time-released Morphine) and MSIR (immediate release Morphine) And you wouldn't know it to look at me - I'm 46 and a reasonably fit blonde/blue "soccer mom" with 3 teenagers and a new love of rocks.

I pump water up from the aquafir and straight into my house. No treatments at all. I don't drink water, but everyone else in the house does. Seeing what the minerals do to plumbing fixtures, I'm sure glad I don't drink it!
