Some pictures of our rocks after 4 days in the 60/90 grit. For anyone interested, I will try and post pics of both of these batches after each step. Here is my granite and a few driveway stones after four days in the 60/90 grit. The granite looks like it is coming along nicely. I originally thought this was some poor quality rose quartz that I collected from a crushed rock driveway, but after seeing the results of the rough grind, now I am not so sure. It seems to be fairly porous, which could cause problems in later steps. Any help with the I.D. would really be appreciated. -Montagieu

Things look like they're shaping up nicely, Montagieu! The only suggestion I might make is to add some more smaller stuff, if you can. The lot seems pretty uniformly sized. Sorry I can't help with the IDs. That peach-coloured granite is really pretty!

An update.
I pulled the granite and quartz batches out of the 120-220 grit a couple of days ago. The batches then ran through 3 washes of borax and water.
Results: Granite and driveway gravel batch is shaping up nicely! Cleaned out my #6 bbl added some pre-polish and sent that batch on its way. I am very disappointed with the quartz. As I suspected, it was way too porous and was holding on to grit, even after 3 washes! I am terminating that batch and filling that #6 bbl with more rocks for the 60-90 cycle.
