YUP !!! Thats a Hereford alright. I got a real close look at one while he was running my chubby little A$$ out of a farmers timber once while I was hunting arrowheads. The farmer had told me that old Elmer wouldn't hurt a fly. The day after my encounter with Elmer he put the farmer THRU the wall of the barn. Broke one of his arms and three ribs. Elmers attitude won him a trip to the locker plant !!! The only thing missing on that slab is the deep throated growling and the snot blowing out of his nose !!!

Well Now Partner, What you have there is a Polled Hereford. Polled livestock are livestock that are lacking horns, either naturally or as a result of their removal by humans. All the wild ancestors of the major horned livestock species possess horns, in those domesticated animals which lack them it is the result of breeding for a polled gene by man. Many breeds of cattle, sheep and some goats are polled for a variety of reasons, the foremost being that horns can pose a physical danger to humans and other animals. This is a Polled Hereford Bull.
