Dunno Tony. Dunno.
Certainly has gone a bit quiet in the last few months though. You kind of feel like something has happened that you don't know about. It's a bit eerie.

Hmmm.. maybe they were abucted by aliens.. .. or jesus.. ... or worse yet.. maybe they found the rock pile of all rock piles and have refused to leave it until each rock has been looked over and licked twice before they come back.. lol..

I think it's just getting to the point that now the weather's gotten better more people can be out and about.

Where have all the members gone?
Long time passing.
Where have all the members gone?
Long time ago.
Where have all the members gone?
Gone to rocking everyone.
When will they ever learn?
When will they ever learn?

I am at fault and have not posted or even had any rock time for months it seems like. I imagine folks are like us and Saturdays are spent in the yard cleaning up from the hard ice and snow storms, the city is allowing us to burn through April and I have burned a pile of limbs the size of an 18 wheeler. I had the yard so clean I tilled and replanted seed. Next I had the bright idea to remodel the upstairs bathroom and that shot 2 weeks, this weekend is my son's Birthday. So maybe next Saturday I can cut and polish a rock, maybe even post a pic. john

Strangely enough, we still have over 100 members logged in and "active" every day, with over 300 guests. So I'd say they're still here, just not posting.

I'm still here, just lurking though. I promise to come back more often and post more photos, and restart the rock box again... in May, honest.

I admit too that I have been flaking on this board. Lately when I have time I've been practicing carving jade. This takes A lot of time but it's really fun and relaxing. I will post up some photo's of what I have been making.

I will tell you, without arrogance if possible. I am burned out. All I do is jewelery. I dread going into the shop each day. All I do is repair, custom make, repair, deal with tourists. They need what I do. I try to give them 100%. I am so delighted there are entheusiastic new comers on this forum. I have been doing so much high end stuff, I just get home and almost fall asleep. When someone is about to repeat a mistake I made, I pipe in. Otherwise I just surf. Time for the younger folk to recreate the wheel.

I haven't had much time for projects in the last few months, but I do still stop in to see what everyone else is up to from time to time - guess I need to start putting my two cents worth in more often(LOL). I feel bad that I haven't been on much - I miss the "community" spirit. For me, the nicer weather means that I can finally get back to tumbling, cutting, showing and posting! I'm going to Franklin, NC (actually Gatlinburg, TN) next week for some gem mining with Christian, so I know I'll have something to talk about when I get back! Good to "see" everyone again! Dave
