I'm always here in spirit! I can't wait until we're done building on our house so I can spend more time here and with my rocks. Good Lord, I haven't finished a cab since the first of February!!

Spring has sprung. Time for fire control work, fence repairs and raptor shows. I've been busier than a hound dog in a hydrant factory!.....Mel

I visit everyday--often more than once in a day. I have simply learned not to blabber here any more.

Rock Tumbling has a kind of finite life to it - we do it to the nth degree then its like - oh my god i can make anything shine. I said "kind of" because its one of those things you HAVE to do after a break from it. Well thats my experience anyway. Its like Doc there says he does "jewelery" - Tumbling is less on the agenda probably - although I havent spoken to Doc but I suspect thats the case. Weather has a lot to play. Work has a lot to play. Family life has a lot to play. I for one take a lower profile here than I did three years ago, but i started 3 barrels going again about a month ago - maybe even 6 weeks ago - Im not sure. I think that the forum has to move on though - because members move on to other things which they like, enjoy and are productiive for them. That said - I still like RTH to the nth degree, and am still going to promote it - infact the new member joins (join rate hasnt dropped) havent dropped and there are loads of people interested in the hobby. I think that I would like to expand the forum into new areas but am miserable to do so due to "DOGMA". But Im chilled out - and hop you guys are all aswell.

Hello all! I've been away for a while - setting up a new business and looking after elderly relatives.........
Anyway, tumblers are a-tumblin' - I've got to do a batch of Rose Quartz for a friend's wedding.
Hopefully I'll be able to pop in again - I miss the forum!!!!

I just, today, got notified, I did indeed attain my second PhD! That is another reason I have been more of a surfer than actively contributing. Aside from the fact I have nothing to say. I have been indeed busy. I am too old for this sort of thing. I have CRS real bad! What with surviving the '60's, Woodstock, the Disco Duck era, many marriages, etc... Now I am a real burn out. I will still surf though.

Jim, I would say, Dr. of Insanity. It seems the more I learn, the less I know. In actuality, The original is Dr. of Divinity. My second is Dr. of Biblical Studies. People who know me, call me The Rev. Schnorr. Once I did the final Redneck Wedding, and the reception was at the Doo Drop Inn, all my fun ended. At the reception, people who laughed when I said I was a Pastor looked in shock at my collar. One drunk chick even came up and said, "Ah ain never flashed a real preacher". Well, suddenly business slowed down in our shop! They are getting used to what always was and are coming back but they all treat me differently. I haven't handed out any Jerry Beads since the wedding. It is getting boring.

Well, I guess I'm relieved I'm not the only one that got over busy and life that got a little crazy! But I'm feeling the rocks calling to me again. I've been also been riding my bike more, knitting more, de-stressing from work more....but I have all kinds of gorgeous slabs to play with, and jade and boulder opal, and stuff from Jamie to use! When school lets out, I think I'll be at it again, with a vengence! ~Dee

I been working overtime to the point it affected my health, came down with bronchitis that turned into pnemonia ...walking into the emergency room I fainted and got a concussion when the Coke machine broke my fall. My first polish is on hold until I can get around again. <sigh> AgateHeaven

Ok how's this for bad luck..May 2 A tractor with a fertilizer spreader backed into me and hubby not once but twice at a red light. It took 3 hours to get a rental car and then they said the tractor wasnt insured. 2 days later at work I opened elevator...no elevator car, nearly walked into it. 2 hours after that the lift on the trailer I was using malfunctioned and made me fall off and bruise my tailbone badly. Today they called and told us they are gonna fix the truck instead of totaling it. Bad luck is my baby brother....Mommy tell him to quit following me!!!!! <sitting on a donut> AgateHeaven

Sorry to hear about all the lousy stuff, AgateHeaven, but that day you didn’t step on the elevator was probably the luckiest day of your life.

SUmmers here! Camp is open, Custody battles are fighting- and we have had some clear nights were I take my telescopes out and get lost in this wonderful thing we call the Universe! But the barrels are still turning- and once in a while I catch a few minutes at work or home to drop in a check up

Received my Gov incentive check and will be ordering a cabber this week, so FINALLY I'll be posting some cabs.
I have some stuff in polish right now, but I have found that tumbling takes too long. I'm ready for some instant gratification!

That is the best use of the checks I have heard of. We can all enjoy the pics you post too.

Something seems to happen, fewer and fewer "active users in the past 24 hours". Used to be constantly over 100, now I see 82. A few days ago I found in the morning that my evening post in "member photographs" was still the most recent one ... go figure, in "member photographs"! I cherish this place and it hurts me to see this, that's why I'm pointing it.
