If it were easy we'd all be tumbling those jaspers. Those are beauties worth a heroic effort. Great finish and photos.

Yes, I will join the sea of voices saying "gorgeous"--I know what I will be tumbling (or at least trying) next!

Thanks all! Susan, you should give it go and do you have enough to do a batch? Like most rocks, a freshly cut side or slice does much better, but the Stromatolites seem to really like a new surface. These two were supposed to be in this post, but they're just a little too fractured and pitted. The first one is typical... I'd grind through to those little crystal pockets every time and they were a serious pain in the arse to keep clean and not contaminate the whole load. The second one is really pretty and very agatized, but alas... very fractured. Good luck and let me know if you have enough to do complete load.

All beautiful rocks, but I think I'm in love with the last one in the first bunch of pics.

WOW!!!Steve all the rocks have turned out just amazing. Is there some of the Mary Ellen Jasper the same as you sent me? The first 3 look familiar? I think that the last one in the first batch of pictures is just out of this world. Fantastic job. Dermot.

Steve,
I located them in the garage last night after I looked at your pictures, I have enough to start a batch in a 3 lb. tumbler, with ceramics. I'm planning to slice them and tumble as small slabs, so require ceramics regardless of how much I put in. Your photos are so beautiful--they certainly bring out the colors and patterns in those rocks!
