I love that stuff. And the mine owner Steve Howard is real nice. Buying from him is smart. The 1st class slabs are selling a dolar or two cheaper on ebay, but he is selling the B and C grade slabs for way cheaper. I can't bring myself to cut a A grade slab, so I got about half a dozen B and C grade one to cut. I just take out my 3 A grade slabs and show them to people. Here is a slab I posted here a while back. Only one piece has gone all the way through polish, but I need a better picture. I actually looks better w/o the light shining through. Here is a thread about the first slab I bought. forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=general&thread=1137794751&page=1Susan - Can I ask what slab numbers you got? If you right click on one of his pictures and select properties, you can link to it here. Show us!

Good choices Susan. I will definately be getting some more. I might even try some of the rough when I get a few more paychecks.

I can tell you the material polishes pretty well too. it is hard and dense. The yellow lacey bands polish a little faster ans stand out at first. The white spots at the tips of some of the red plume will undercut very slightly - but only adds to the appeal. Here is a little C grade slab from vein 2 that Steve gave me for free: And here is a slab that has a great scene. It see a stand of Aspen trees on a hillside. (I can't find this picture right now) I am not even sure how I will cut it:

Daniel, I'm sitting here at the desk looking at the two pieces that you sent me. This stuff is beautiful, they'll most likely get wrapped in wire after I shape and tumble them. They'll be in the next batch!

Earth, I first saw this agate on eBay. I think The Maple Tree is offering 2-3 slabs at auction as we speak. Then I did a general online search for Prudent Man Agate and found Steve's mine website. I don't know how I managed to miss Daniel's thread 'cuz I don't miss much on this Board. I think he's right, however. This is a new find and it's a fairly small vein of agate, I think the price is only destined to go up. Get it while the gettin's good. Steve is a really nice guy, interesting and very cool to interact with. He's working on posting some more stuff on his site, including some rough. We shall see. I told him I'd try to send some rockhounds his way - ;D Peace. Susan

EarthLMAO- see its a game- Her Birthday is coming up- And we are trying to sell our Chevy truck- If i'm real careful and the stars line up- We will sell the truck and have a mini windfall!!! So I say- Hey hon- why don't you buy that sewing machine you wanted (around $2500) for your birthday- Then she will look at me and say" and what do you want?"(she always knows) and I'll just say- oh just a Genie- Not nearly as expensive as that sewing machine- "well you have been real good about buying stuff latly- so go for it"
