Well I've been laid up from my knee injury and surgery for 3 months now but that hasn't stopped me from doing rock work. I've slabbed, cabbed and done silver work. Just have been too lazy to take pics. Well I cut with the Workforce for the first time since last fall so I figured I'd post those cuts and the ones from my big saw.
Here's the whole lot.
First up the slab saw cuts. This was the first rock I cut on the saw we just got. Its a piece of agate that I collected near Brenda this past January when Catmandewe drove us out into the desert.
This is some graveyard plume of Amber's. There is still a lot of this left but the center is all an opaque tan color so I don't think I'll cut the rest.
Green moss that I got from Snowdog years ago.
Fancy jasper from Stoneage Industries.
St. Johns flower garden agate from Stonesthatrock. This chunk didn't have a lot of agate and it was a bit fractured but what survived the saw was pretty nice. I have more to try.
Now for the Workforce cuts. This is kyanite, smokey quartz and schist from a local site. A kid had it up at our clubs auction and I felt bad that no one was bidding on it. I'm going to make him a cab from one of the better pieces.
Chalcopyrite and magnetite. I got this at our club sale too. Its from a local mine. I'm interested to find out how it cabs.
Back during the winter someone here asked me if I would be willing to cut this up for them. I said sure not realizing it would take me so long to be able to cut again. I'd call this Fordi$e but the last time I used that word here someone threatened to turn me in for copy-write infringement. lol Lets call it Boatite because there was a boat builder in the town where it was found. I cut it in two different directions
Now I just have to make some cabs of the Boatite for its owner. Thanks for looking.
